About Us

South Bundy Buses was formed in 1998 with the takeover of five contracted school bus services from Don and Betty Wagner which operated from Childers Road, Pine Creek and South Bingera into Bundaberg schools. Steady expansion has seen our fleet grow to 10 vehicles which operate 7 kilometre-based school services under contract to the Queensland Government.

During this time our buses have been regularly chartered to numerous events across Queensland and Australia. For example, two of our fleet were used throughout the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Paralympics Games where we transporting numerous athletes and officials. In 2002, South Bundy Buses made a decision to invest in new vehicles and equipment to continue the provision of high quality service and reliability with improved emission standards.

With this continued investment in new vehicles, we took the next step of retro fitting seatbelts to two vehicles whilst purchasing an additional two vehicles with seatbelts and introducing air conditioning as standard in 2010 to cater for groups looking for additional comfort and safety. The commitment to quality provision of service does not rest with just our bus fleet. In 2009 a new depot facility which we purposely built at 5 Ellen Drive in Thabeban was opened to allow for upgraded office and workshop facilities.

South Bundy Buses has continued to support major bus transportation projects in recent years including the Brisbane G20 meeting in 2014, a major rail bus replacement service for the commissioning of the new Redcliffe Peninsula line in 2016, and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Today, South Bundy Buses continues to strive for improvement in quality standards to provide safe reliable services. Further, we are a proudly local and family operated business with strong ties to our local community through our involvement with local schools, local business and the sporting community.
